Those Black Limousines keep on comin'. Milestone 8.12.07
"Well, those cars never seem to stop comin'.
Keep those rags and machines hummin."
(i just learned something -- of all the millions of times i have listened to that song -- i always thought it was keep those black limousines hummin'. Go Figure.)
What to do car washes and Promotion Sunday have in common?

i have no idea. If you do please share it with me --but i just went through the car wash this morning.
All weekend long HKate was begging me to go for she loves to go through the car
wash -- it just didn't happen.
wash -- it just didn't happen. So today, dropping the kids off i noticed my fuel level was perilously low. This caused trip to Pilot (i just can't face that Race Trac madhouse). On way back, i saw the car wash and pulled in.
Waiting there with no music -- XM signal lost in car wash shoot -- i started looking at all the stuff cascading off my car and down my windshield.
It was really dirty.
Then i pulled through and WOW.
Everything looked so Bright and Cheery!!! Even that new place to buy gas they are putting in at Ingles which looked so deary and depressing when i drove by it the first time this morning.
I had no clue how incredibly dirty my windshield was -- the whole world looked soooo much better.
And then it hit me. A big bug -- right smack in the middle of my nice clean, beautiful windshield. No, not really --just kidding re bug. But something else did hit me.
That's how my eyes and my heart get. Slowly but surely, life and the world deposit stuff on them -- day in and day out. The grime gathers so imperceptibly, i don't know how much stuff is clouding my perception (or reception from God).
That's why i need to set my alarm, set my coffee pot and get out of bed.
(Here i am this morning. --
Funny some Cezanne fellow just happened to be walking by with his easel. I invited him in for a cup and he captured me at my most introspective.)
Yes, i do need to get up and meet God and let Him talk to me.
Crack open the bible and let it speak to me. To get rid of my accumulated film.
(i think film sounds more dainty than grime or dirt -- Though looking at my portrait i look well-scrubbed and quite sturdy. But looks are very deceiving as to what is really going on in our hearts.)
And you know what's really cool is that what He needs to tell me is completely different than what he needs to tell you -- but He is sooo ready to meet us and talk over a great cup of coffee.
Okay -- enough of car washes, sturdy women and a great cups of joe.
Sunday School promotion. Yea!!!

Next week: Honduras.
In the interest of being able to spend most of our time on program, please forward prayer requests and announcements ahead http://www.gatrjam@aol.com/. Lord willing, i will have them typed and presentable for viewing so we won't take up first 35 minutes of class on that type of discussion.
