Update 7.02.06. a 4th "Party on the Patio." hmmm.."What did you say?"

Dear Stones:

Hope all are in middle of great holiday weekend!

Mstone Central 10 a.m.

Lots of Fireworks.

Terry Massey set off spectacular rocket display. For once, our very spacious classroom was to definite advantage!!!

Guess it would have been more spectacular if it had been night and we could have actually seen them.

But was great effort! Which is always worth tons of Milestone Applesauce!

Yes, T. Mass stepped in most ably at last minute and led discussion of Joshua 24. "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord."...

Master "last minute teacher" queried gathered Mcrowd, "How are our children learning God is important to us?"

hmm..?

Guess, it is our obligation as parents to instruct our children. But as Terry pointed out, it is what they see and hear that makes the most significant impression. many "oh dears" in my case.

It is important to remember that as much as we try to force our will on our children -- this is one area where our will -- really doesn't matter all that much.

Accepting Christ will always be their decision and theirs alone. What takes place in the heart is known only by the Father.

Our deepest good stuff

and our darkest bad.

Actions and words repeated like some parrot don't mean a lot. It has to be real. A true circumcision of the heart.

So let your children grow and make mistakes. Just make it abundantly clear they can always come to their earthly parents and more importantly to their heavenly Father.

No mess-up is too big. No hook buried too deep. OUCH!

Think as adults we need that message as well. Because we (or at least i) still make some pretty big mistakes.

Great job on the fly...Terry.......

Prayer Requests

Karen Griffith asked for prayers for her sister Becky who has a cyst on her knee. And for her niece's family, Melanie and Matt Morris who tragically lost everything in a house fire on Friday. They have 2 small children.

Cindy South gave a thanksgiving that her mother finished her chemotherapy last week. She will have surgery on July 18. Let us all continue to pray for the Lord's mighty healing hand on her mother, Mary.

Honduras

So sorry for those who missed both the 9 a.m. and the 11 a.m. services. The Honduran Mission Team gave a very emotional and inspiring look at their recent trip. We got to glimpse at how all the money God raised -- in part -- with VBS and Mstone loosened purse-strings was used to feed precious children, among other needs.

David, Leanne, Scott and all others really need to come and show the video shot -- it looks like mostly by you David -- since didn't see you much in footage on big screen. but am only guessing on cinematographer. regardless,

it was sooo great!

All Mstones must see. Maybe we can find a week in schedule that will work with D. Burbach's massive usual Sunday morning Mad FUMC schedule.

Good Week, God Bless and

Go Forth and have an amazing 4th
!
(or at least a somewhat spectacular one -- there should be a sparkler or two.)

btw, on a personal 4th note, i always preferred the somewhat silent sparklers.... as i was deathly afraid of loud noises.

i always prayed for some massive thunderstorm over central Florida the night of the 4th -- which i thought must surely wipe out any chance of being drug to an ear-splittingly loud fireworks display.

In spite of my fervent childhood prayers being answered with electric rain, it seems like they do indeed shoot off fireworks in damp weather.

But at least i was somewhat shielded from nervous noise breakdown because if it was raining -- that usually meant watching pyrotechnics from car. or a car with tailgate of stationwagon (remember those things) let down. Which would let me secretly steal up deep inside the metal gal cowering up against the front seats somewhat protected from the sonic booms.

But the Lord does work in very mysterious ways.

yes, thanks to many collegiate hours and years spent at the SMU track with Sony Walkman blasting in ears at midnight to run off massive calorie allotment expended at Greenville Ave. happy hours -- most probably Sunday through Wednesday nights -- i am like "fireworks?" "what did you say?"

My hearing is so damaged and i am so hopelessly deaf -- really legally gone in right ear. So if you come up at me on right side and i totally ignore you -- not being rude -- just Walkman deaf.

This total auditory destruction probably happened sometime between the release of El Loco, Eliminator and Afterburner. Deafness caused by ZZ Top cranked way too loud for way too long -- for i was in TX after all.

But most happily thanks to Sony....no more loud noise traumas.

HURRAH!

So Fireworks Forever and

Go U. S. of America! Darn it!

and quite frankly who doesn't go slightly crazy over a Sharped Dressed Man in Dress Blues. hmm..
